THE SOKRATES PROJECT UPDATE 17th March 2021

Every day I am stunned and truly grateful that I got involved with KEPZ and they asked me to help them raise funds to rebuild their shelter. I have never met a nicer group of people than the lovely volunteers, pictured here with 3 pups that need forever homes, that give their time to clean the shelter and give the dogs the love and attention they need. I am also truly blessed by the outpouring of love and kindness of the 128 donors that have given so much to help KEPZ financially at a time when finances are tight for many people. I truly thank you for your generosity, and the kind words and thoughts you have sent. To date the gofundme appeal has raised £3,619 , which represents 362 bricks, which is incredible. I have some more exciting news. The British Charity "Friends of the Strays of Greece" have offered to contribute towards the cost of the shelter rebuild. Both the board of KEPZ , the volunteers and I are so grateful for this support. The intention is to get the asbestos roofs replaced as soon as possible as they are a health hazard to the Volunteers and the dogs too!

We still need to keep the Sokrates Project Gofundme appeal going as there is much, much more that needs doing but we can at least see one part of the project moving forward. I can't help thinking that the fact a lot of people from Corfu entered their dogs and cats into the Friends of Strays Virtual Dog Show might have had something to do with them giving the funds to KEPZ. I don't know, but it's a nice thought. Thank you to everyone who did. So far the Sokrates Project Appeal has been shared 733 times on social media. We need it to have 6,000 shares to reach our final goal of €60,000. So please share and share again to remind people KEPZ needs their help and love.
